This is my local beach and as the old ditty goes,
“oh I do like to be beside the seaside, oh I do like to be beside the sea ”
As often as I remember its importance to my sense of well being, I take myself out for an hour or so, be it a “working day” or not.
For me walking alongside water somehow magically clears my head, reminds me to breathe deeply taking in that beautiful clean air and encourages me to give conscious thought to what I want from the day, year, life…
Some may think it freaky, but this is when I get my “downloads” (from where I don’t know for sure but it happens in the shower too). What do I mean by downloads? Thoughts that just pop into mind. Fresh inspiration, answers to questions our members have asked, ideas about the business, people to contact to say Hi, I was just thinking of you.
Do you think habits like this contribute to a happy life, or is this modern day clap trap and we should be getting our noses back to that grindstone and work harder. An hour or two out of work, during the day, are you nuts or what Irene!
Well, all I can say is I know what works for me, and that’s all I can ask for you. For you to know what works for you too – and do more of it.
